Three Words That Will Set You Free

Let it go.

You’re in the right, they are definitely wrong. What were they thinking? How could they?

Let it go.

The dog that keeps barking, the colleague that stole your idea and took your credit. The driver that cuts you off, the family member that cuts you down, the boss that doesn’t appreciate you. The thing that she said, and that which he did not do.

Let it go.

Why? Because He told you so:

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Matt 6:14-15

Rolling in your sleep, knotting in your stomach, aching in your head, biting your fingernails.

Let it go.

‘Cause here’s the deal:

Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Luke 6:37

For unforgiveness is the sign of the unbeliever.

So peel off that ugly tattoo. Today. Right this very moment.

How will they believe in the forgiveness of Christ, if the Christian standing before them won’t ever forgive them?

But, I’m always the one to forgive. Must I again?

Only if what He says matters:

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”  Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
Matt 18:21-22

Want a little time to think about it? Pray about it?

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
Mark 11:25

But…but…but.

No buts. Free them. Free yourself.

Dive into the cool waters of forgiveness. Dance to the glorious music of grace.

Let it go.
